Es la empresa municipal de servicios sanitarios, radicada en la ciudad de Mar del Plata, Provincia de Buenos Aires, Rep\u00fablica Argentina, que tiene como objeto de acuerdo a las obligaciones establecidas por la Ordenanza de su creaci\u00f3n \u201cla prestaci\u00f3n, administraci\u00f3n, explotaci\u00f3n, mantenimiento, control, ampliaci\u00f3n, renovaci\u00f3n, construcci\u00f3n, estudios, investigaci\u00f3n y aplicaci\u00f3n de nuevas tecnolog\u00edas de los servicios de provisi\u00f3n de agua potable, desag\u00fces domiciliarios, cloacales, industriales y\/o de cualquier otro car\u00e1cter y, en general, de saneamiento b\u00e1sico en el partido de General Pueyrred\u00f3n, as\u00ed como la explotaci\u00f3n, captaci\u00f3n y utilizaci\u00f3n de aguas destinadas a tal fin\u201c.<\/p>\n

El Partido de General Pueyrred\u00f3n<\/strong>, \u00e1rea de cobertura de la empresa, tiene una poblaci\u00f3n de 667.082 habitantes<\/strong> (seg\u00fan datos de censo del a\u00f1o 2022) con una superficie de 1460 km2<\/strong> y una densidad de poblaci\u00f3n de 456.2 habitantes por km2.<\/strong> Mar del Plata es la ciudad cabecera del partido que se encuentra sobre el Mar Argentino en la zona S.E de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, en las siguientes coordenadas: 38\u00ba 00\u2032 latitud sur, 57\u00ba 33\u2032 longitud Oeste.<\/p>\n

El Servicio Sanitario se inicia en la ciudad en el a\u00f1o 1913 bajo la \u00f3rbita Nacional como OBRAS SANITARIAS DE LA NACION (OSN), posteriormente pas\u00f3 a la DIRECCION DE OBRAS SANITARIAS DE LA PROVINCIA (DOSBA) y luego al INSTITUTO MUNICIPAL DE DESARROLLO URBANO (IMDUR).<\/p>\n

En 1984 se cre\u00f3, por Ordenanza del Concejo Deliberante de la Municipalidad de Gral. Pueyrred\u00f3n, OBRAS SANITARIAS SOCIEDAD DE ESTADO (O.S.S.E.),<\/strong> como empresa municipal. Su capital es 100% p\u00fablico y su unico accionista es el Honorable Concejo Deliberante como representante de la comunidad.<\/p>\n
